    The sensor is the device that is able to be measured and convert the output signal according to certain rules. It is usually consist of sensitive components and conversion components. When the sensor output signal is the standard signal, then the sensor is known as the transmitter.

    The transmitter is converting non-standard signals into standard electrical signal instruments, while sensor converts the physical signal into electrical signal.
